If you think Aiken's equestrian calendar goes quiet in the summer, think again. While the big spring season has wrapped up, June and July still bring real competition to two of Aiken's top venues

June Events

Schooling Dressage Collection — June 10 | Stable View

A monthly schooling opportunity for dressage riders in a show environment. Open to all levels.

USEF/USDF Recognized Dressage — June 13–14 | Stable View

A recognized dressage show with top-quality judging at Stable View.

PSJ Summer I — June 19–21 | Highfields Event Center

A PSJ C-series hunter/jumper show at Highfields Event Center.

USEF/USEA Summer Horse Trials — June 20–21 | Stable View

A USEF/USEA-recognized horse trials at Stable View, open to multiple levels.

Hunter Jumpers In & Out Series — June 26–28 | Stable View

A hunter/jumper show series at Stable View offering $25,000 in prize money.

July Events

July is quieter — that's just Aiken in summer — but there are still three events worth knowing about.

Why Summer in Aiken Still Makes Sense for Equestrians

Yes, it's hot. But Aiken's infrastructure doesn't stop — the trails at Hitchcock Woods, Three Runs Plantation, and the surrounding communities are still there. The trainers are still here. The farms are still active.

For buyers relocating with horses, summer is actually one of the best times to visit. The pressure of peak season is off, properties are easier to see, and you get a real feel for what day-to-day equestrian life in Aiken looks like — not just the show season version of it.

Other Notable Events in Aiken This Summer

Aiken stays active beyond the equestrian venues. Here are some highlights for June and July.

Amp the Alley — Every Thursday, April–October | The Alley, Downtown Aiken

A free outdoor concert series running every Thursday from 6:30–9:30 PM, April through October. Live music, art, and local restaurants in The Alley in the heart of downtown Aiken. Text "AMP" to 31996 for schedule updates.

Thursday Night Jazz at The Willcox — Every Thursday | 100 Colleton Ave SW

Every Thursday evening, 7:00–9:00 PM at The Willcox. Local quartet Four Cats in the Doghouse performs live straight-ahead jazz in the historic hotel lobby. The group has held this weekly residency since 2009. No tickets required.

Both Amp the Alley and Thursday Night Jazz happen the same evening — Thursday in downtown Aiken is a good night to be out.

Hopelands Concert Series — Every Monday Through June 29 | Hopelands Gardens

Free live performances every Monday evening at Hopelands Gardens through June 29. Concerts begin at 7:00 PM in June. Bring a lawn chair or blanket; picnics welcome, no alcohol. Parking at the Green Boundary Club, 780 Whiskey Road.

First Friday — June 5 & July 3 | Downtown Aiken

First Friday in Downtown Aiken runs from 5:00 PM on the first Friday of each month. Local shops, galleries, and restaurants participate.

Summer Sip & Shop — July 10 | Downtown Aiken

Summer Sip & Shop takes place Friday, July 10 starting at 5:00 PM in Downtown Aiken.

July 4th at The Village at Woodside — July 4 | 230 Village Green Blvd

The July 4th celebration at The Village at Woodside begins at 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 4.
